The Travels of Tug 44

Champlain Canal Lock C-7 at Fort Edward

We need your vote!
Tug 44 is entered in the 2008 Waterford Tugboat Roundup. If you enjoy this website,
please take a moment to vote for Tug 44 at the Roundup's People's Choice Awards!

The northbound approach to Lock 7, offers 3 choices:
  • The entrance to Lock C-7 is shown on the far right.

  • Directly alongside the lock is the channel leading to the Fort Edward terminal with 4 feet depth.

  • To the far left of Rogers Island is the main flow of the natural Hudson River which is NOT navigable.

Dredging is a Hot Topic in this area. Two plants just above this area had discharged PCB's
into the Hudson River years ago, and dredging is stuck in court until an agreement is reached.
At this time dredging may be delayed until 2008.
