Seen from the nearby bridge, Oswego Canal Lock O-8 sports a rather impressive lock keeper's shack.

Right alongside the lock, the natural Oswego River runs over rapids, etc. Locks 6, 7 and 8 are all one right after the other, in a separate man-made channel. Below this lock is Oswego Harbor, and Lake Ontario.
