The Travels of Tug 44

Domestic Turkey

The Domestic Turkey is the kind we serve on Thanksgiving Day, as raised by farmers. They are a cross-breed between the smaller european Turkey and the American Wild Turkey. Breeding has made them larger than the european ones, and less shy than the Wild Turkey.   high-res

In the previous photo, he is all puffed up to appear larger so as to impress the girl Turkeys. Then in this photo, he realizes there are no girl Turkeys around to impress, so he deflates. He does it by extending all his feathers straight out. The streaks in the photos are raindrops, it is drizzling.   high-res
