This Swainson's Hawk was at the 2017 Winter Raptor Fest, at our local Washington County Fairgrounds. These are large hawks, generally found in the American Prairie Mid-West, and they are long distance migrators, wintering in Argentina. high-res

They catch mice and voles and small mammals. The handler got the bird to show off his wings for my photos. high-res
