A Vole is a small rodent, frequently found in hay fields, and hunted by Hawks, Owls and even Herons. They are about twice the size of a mouse, with a shorter tail with a bit of fuzz on it. They are very destructive to crops. This one got her Heron friend to hold her up so she could be photographed. :) high-res |
