Derrick Boat No. 2A, also known as DB2A is a large crane barge. It is not self-propelled and requires a small tug to position her. The water seen blowing out the side is cooling-water for the engine that operates the crane.

The DB2A can be used as a crane to lift logs from tree cutting operations, or it can be equipped with a clamshell bucket and be used to repair the shoreline, or even as a dredge. In these photos she is loading tree branches from shore to an attached deck barge.
