Lighthouses: Hudson River, NY, NJ










Lighthouses have existed for millenia and have fascinated people well beyond their intended purpose of warning mariners away from shoals and rocks. Many are very attractive and some are now museums. Sadly the bulk of them have been replaced by automated buoys or completely demolished. The Hudson River and the approaches to New York Harbor have a lovely collection of still-standing lighthouses, and we present a look at them here.
