The Travels of Tug 44

Fort Wadsworth Lighthouse - New York Harbor

Replacing previous lighthouses nearby, in 1903 a lighthouse was built on top of the walls of Battery Weed of Fort Wadsworth at the west end of the Verrazano Narrows on Staten Island.

The Fort Wadsworth Lighthouse remained active until the Verrazano Narrows Bridge was built in 1965 and is now dwarfed by it.
