The Travels of Tug 44

Erie Canal - Old Lock 10
Cohoes, NY

Lock 10 was also a double lock built in 1842, but now nothing is left but the wreckage of one of the walls. It's located in George Street Park, in Cohoes, NY.

A closeup of the south end of the wrecked remaining wall.

The northern end of the wrecked wall.

Below the lock (south) the canal bed continues, looking like a rather nice golf course.

Just above the lock (north) is the George Street Park's gazebo, conveniently located so I could sit out a sudden thunder storm there. The stones in front of the gazebo were originally part of the lock.
