Glens Falls Feeder Canal Lock 14 and Feeder Dam
Glens Falls, NY

The Glens Falls Feeder Dam provides the water for the Feeder Canal. Old Lock 14 is right alongside the dam. Today, the Feeder Canal no longer carries boats, but the water is still used to supply the modern Champlain Canal.

Here's the north wall of old Lock 14, much patched, and sections replaced with concrete.

Many alterations were made over the years. Here, a concrete section was poured right over the original lock hardware.

Part of the lock had been dismantled, and the stone blocks were simply dumped into the river alongside.
