There's been a Ticonderoga Ferry since 1755. This modern version consists of the barge Fort Ticonderoga 11, propelled by the tug Addie B. The barge/tug steers by riding along steel cables which drop down to the lake bottom after it passes. Stay clear!. See their website at: http://www.middlebury.net/tiferry/
