Trawler Sea Star continues her westward passage at Guard Gate 3, near the Village of Indian Castle. Seen in the distance is the Canal Corporation's Hydraulic Dredge No 5, and its floating pipeline. The creek just beyond the Guard Gate is constantly silting up the Erie Canal at this location and frequent dredging is needed.
