New Century 1 - Car Carrier RoRo

New Century 1 is the world's largest car carrier. Built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and owned and operated by Toyofuji Shipping Co., she is 653 feet long, 105 feet wide, and has a draft of 27 feet. She carries her capacity of 6,000 cars at 20 knots. In this photo the setting sun has added a redish tint to her white upper hull structure. See full-sized photo

New century 1 is a RoRo (roll-on, roll-off) meaning she has several self-contained folding ramps that set down on the dock, allowing the cars to be simply driven off any of her 12 internal decks. Note the brand new SUV driving out of the ship.
