The Travels of Tug 44

Erie Canal Lock E10 at Cranesville

Seen from inside the lock chamber is the adjacent dam, in this photo from early September 2003.

In this photo taken in 2004, Tug 44 approaches the lock chamber on her westbound transit. These photos were taken before a 3 year construction project began, to rebuild the entire dam. Sadly, the flood of June 2006 destroyed most of this area and closed the canal for months.

Seen here is Erie Canal Lock E-10 and its dam. Some construction barges sit alongside the dam.

Photos of the flood's effects can be seen at http://www.tug44.org/2006.flood/lock10.htm
