NYS Canal System Machinery and Electrics






The New York State Canal System, as we know it today, dates back to 1918, and much of the machinery and electrical equipment is also from that era. Maintenance has always been a critical issue on the Canals and the Lock Keepers spend countless hours polishing brass, painting, lubrication and general maintenance.

The equipment is ancient but it is all in museum condition and everything runs perfectly. Great care is taken that even its appearance is perfect. Nothing like this exists in any factory anywhere.
