The Travels of Tug 44

A Photo Tour of
The Oswego Canal

The 24 mile Oswego Canal connects the Erie Canal with the City of Oswego on the shore of Lake Ontario. Many cruisers run up the Oswego Canal in just a few hours, in their mad dash to get to Lake Ontario and across to Canada. In so doing, they miss a lot. The Oswego Canal has a number of quaint small towns to visit, and it also has some fascinating water works such as dams, side channels, as well as old locks left over from previous versions of the Canal.

Here are some of the towns and points of interest on the Oswego Canal (with mile markers):

Erie Canal   -   Champlain Canal   -   Hudson River   -   Canal History

Lighthouses   -   Canal Corp Boats   -   Tugboats & Trawlers
